Peter Knez

Dr. Peter Knez is a distinguished investment executive, technologist, and academic with more than three decades of leadership in global finance and innovation.

Peter is best known for his tenure as Global Co-Chief Investment Officer at BlackRock, where he helped grow fixed income assets under management from $5 billion to $80 billion worldwide. He previously held senior positions at Barclays Global Investors, Lincoln Capital Management, and Goldman Sachs, earning recognition such as European CIO of the Year for his pioneering work in quantitative fixed income and data-driven investment strategies.

In recent years, he has focused on sustainability, environmental finance, and digital transformation. As Chairman and CEO of Teal, he leads efforts to harness AI, blockchain, and Web3 to turn nature-based assets into verifiable, investable products.

Peter’s academic background is equally accomplished. He holds a PhD from the Wharton School, completed postdoctoral research at the University of Chicago, and has held faculty positions at leading institutions including the University of Wisconsin (where he was named Teacher of the Year), the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and the University of Chicago.
